The First New Learning Space is Here!

The Update

We’re proud to share that the Winspear has opened doors to a new classroom as part of our expansion.

To recognize their generous contribution to the Winspear expansion, we’re pleased to name this classroom the Edmonton Civic Employees Charitable Assistance Fund Sound School Classroom.

This classroom is the first space to open in the expansion project and will allow programs like Sound School, the Alberta Conservatory of Music, Science of Sound, and YONA to operate in a purpose-built facility. When complete, the 50,000 sq. ft. expansion will include nine new community program spaces. With these added spaces, the Winspear will be able to grow these programs and reach over 50% more learners, engaging a total of 50,000 Albertans every year. We’re so excited to continue creating transformative musical experiences and connect even more kids with their love of music. The Sound School Classroom is the first of many milestones ahead, and we’ll continue to share exciting updates as additional spaces come to life.To stay updated, follow our social pages for exciting updates as additional spaces come to life.

This progress is only possible thanks to the early and ongoing support of our community, including generous supporters like the Edmonton Civic Employees Charitable Assistance Fund. Thank you.
