Discover the Future of Music in Northern Alberta

The Winspear expansion will add over 50,000 sq.ft. of new space and convert existing spaces into programming areas, turning the Winspear into a 215,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art cultural attraction dedicated to music. Designed with a second performance hall, classrooms, and mixed-use immersive spaces, it will honour the needs of artists, youth, the public, and community groups.

The Music Box Venue

The jewel of the expansion, this 550-seat performance hall will provide a world-class stage for emerging performers and community music groups. With exceptional acoustics and leading-edge technology, Albertans will enjoy more diverse live music choices than ever.

education Programs

This expansion will allow us to engage 50,000 Albertans in education programs every year, significantly increasing our programming capacity while offering exciting opportunities for more people of all abilities to explore their love of music.

Community spaces

Accessible indoor and outdoor community spaces are woven throughout the new design. Open daily to the public, these spaces will welcome all Edmontonians and visitors from near and far.

“Maclab, my family, and I are thrilled to support the expansion of the Winspear. This transformation of an already remarkable building will allow musicians to share music with more people, provide space for the hugely impactful YONA community youth program, and create a centre that brings together artists and all music lovers. The new performance and recording hall will develop our Alberta musicians and share our cultural vibrancy with the world.”
